Cremation arranged with dignity, with clear guidance for your family at every step.
Intimate services held in our chapel in Tarpum Bay, prepared for your family in advance.
Graveside farewells conducted with the same care and preparation as a full chapel service.
For families who wish to lay a loved one to rest on the water, we arrange burials at sea.
Private family viewings and public viewings held days in advance in our dedicated viewing room.
Because this is about your loved one and not about money, every arrangement begins with a free consultation.
For years, when a loved one passed on Eleuthera, families had no choice. There was no resident funeral home on the island. Your loved one was flown to Nassau, the family travelled there to make arrangements, then brought them home by boat the night before the viewing. It added stress and cost to an already painful time.
In 2016, we decided the islands deserved better, and Freedom Memorial Center was born. For the first time, bereaved families had a face to the name, and it was a Tarpum Bay hometown boy. Collection of your loved one, meetings with the family, private viewings, chapel services, public viewings days in advance, and care straight through to the closing of the graveside.
Today we operate a six-body refrigerated morgue and have been called on by families and the police alike. In 2020, we purchased land in Tarpum Bay with the purpose of building a purpose-built funeral home, morgue and autopsy center, so no family on Eleuthera or the surrounding islands has to leave home to say goodbye. The next generation is growing up in the work, being trained to carry the legacy on.
Every service is prepared in advance and to a standard, because the details are how we show our respect.
